Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor

Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor are together shooting for ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahini’. During the shoot, they have come so closer that they set the house on fire. They became very close friends and whenever gets time, they do huge masti. They both took up fighting jokingly when an entertainment channel turned up to take their interview individually.

After hectic day, it was the wrapping time and both took up fighting as who would go for the interview first. Kat played a trick, she left the coin to decide as who will be the first one for the interview. She flicked a coin in the air but the trick did not work for Katrina, she lost the toss and Ranbir went first.

To her failure, Ranbir laughed at her and Kat left speechless just repenting on her loss. Post the interview, both had a big fight, only missing was the fireworks.

Katrina and Ranbir gelled quite well on the set and their on-screen chemistry is much talked about.

Aishwarya has been endorsing the brand since 2004.

"I am delighted to be associated with a brand like Nakshatra that has garnered immense popularity not only in India but worldwide. I hope this association is amiable and mutually profitable," Katrina said in a statement here on Tuesday.

Gitanjali Group chairman Mehul Choksi said: "Katrina is the perfect representation of the young, trendy and fashionable woman that Nakshatra targets. She lends a refreshing look to the brand. We are excited about having her on board as the new face for Nakshatra."

This is the second time this year that Katrina has overtaken Aishwarya in terms of popularity and endorsements. Earlier, Katrina replaced her as the Bollywood star with the maximum number of downloads and searches on the Internet.

The Britain-born actress, who was initially written off by critics for her strong stiff upper lip accent, has proved her mettle in Bollywood by delivering five back-to-back hits with "Namastey London", 'Apne', 'Partner', 'Welcome' and 'Race'.

Her other releases slated for this year are romantic comedy "Singh is Kingg" with Akshay Kumar and musical extravaganza 'Yuvraj' with real life beau Salman Khan.

She will also be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' where she teams up with Ranbir Kapoor.

Vipul Shah very confident of 'Singh is Kinng'

With an overwhelming response to 'Singh is Kinng' at the ticket windows for advance booking, the makers are expecting a record collection from the romantic comedy which is releasing on Friday.

"We have put 100 percent into the film and we want the audience to bless the film by watching it. We are very confident that the audience will love the film. I'm expecting a record-breaking collection from all over the world," Vipul Shah, producer of the film said on phone from Mumbai.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh added: "We have tremendous expectations from the movie. A combo like Vipul Shah and Anees Bazmee can't go wrong. The movie has a huge box office turnover too. It is a very big film and since it is the solo release this week, it faces no competition either and should be a huge hit."

Written and directed by Anees Bazmee, the film, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, got unexpected publicity when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pulled off a decisive win in the trust vote in parliament July 22.

"Congratulations India... Singh is King!" was the SMS circulated in Punjab and elsewhere soon after the result was announced.

Also, when Harbhajan Singh took six wickets last week to help India gain a lead on the third day of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, the national dailies were flooded with headlines that said: "Singh is King".

"The unexpected publicity that the movie has got proves that Singhs are the real kings. It is the most appropriate title for the movie as it is the Singhs who are making the country proud at present," said Shah.

Made with a budget of Rs.500 million, the film is being distributed by Adlabs with about 2,000 prints worldwide.

International rapper Snoop Dogg and British bhangra band RDB also add a special attraction to the film. The music for the film has already sold over 500,000 CDs and cassettes worldwide.

A source from PVR cinemas said: "The advance bookings are getting a tremendous response at the ticket counter and most of the shows are already housefull till mid next week on an average. PVR is also organising a paid premiere for the movie a day before its release."

Munish Sharma of Satyma Cineplex echoes the observation saying: "People are going crazy for the movie. Also, due to long weekends ahead with national holidays like Raksha Bandhan and Independence day, I'm sure the box office sales will go high."

Joginder Mahajan, a Delhi-based distributor, predicts a grand opening for the film.

"The film will do a business of more than Rs.80 million in the first two weeks itself. The advance booking scene is very good and all multiplexes in Delhi would be playing more than 10 shows of the movie in a day," said Mahajan.

"It is an entertaining and enjoyable picture. The Akshay-Katrina pair is also the reason for its appeal. It will also do well in international countries like Canada and Britain where you have a lot of Sikh population," he added.

'Singh...' is the second movie after Rahul Rawail's 'Jo Bole So Nihaal' that will focus on the Sikh community on the whole. While "Jo Bole..." faced the angst of the Sikh community for the weak portrayal of the Sikhs and tanked at the box office, 'Singh...' too got into trouble for Akshay's trimmed beard.

Although everybody is positive about the movie, Bazmee is feeling uneasy.

"My entire team is very excited and Vipul is over-excited for the movie. However, I somehow always feel uneasy before my every release and thus I visit the Ajmer Sharif before a movie comes out. I would be doing the same before 'Singh...' releases," said Bazmee.

Katrina Kaif is smiling a lot these days. She has reasons to – five of her consecutive films have been hits, something that even top heroines can't boast of. Namastey London, Apne, Partner, Welcome and Race, all have put her in the bracket of top actresses. It's been six years that Katrina's been around, but the last couple of years have been satisfying to say the least. "I feel grateful. It's wonderful when people want to see your films. It proves that my work is appreciated," she says. But Katrina Kaif acknowledges that some of her films have not done well also. "I guess you can't predict which film will do well and which won't. If success is in your fate, no one can take it from you," smiles the pretty actress. The last year has been very good for Katrina. This year too she's been on a roll, having signed a Rs 6-crore deal with Studio 18. A number of other production houses also have been chasing her to sign on the dotted line. We even heard that she's inked a two-film deal with Reliance Big Films and has been paid a whopping sum that leaves rivals Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor's pay packets behind. "Yes, I have signed a deal with Studio 18 but the films are yet to go on floors. The money is not so important. I have no idea how much Aishwarya and Kareena are paid. But I am happy to be counted among them. I am years junior to them and being compared to them is a high. It does mean a lot to me," smiles the pretty actress. She, however, dismisses rumours of a deal with Reliance Big Films. "There's no point in signing a lot of films and not doing justice to them. I don't want to work just for money. I already have too many films in hand." Katrina has worked with many of A-list heroes, from Salman Khan to Saif Ali Khan to Akshay Kumar. "I am lucky to have worked with A-listers. The more you work them, the more experience you gain. And I firmly believe that if you work sincerely, you are accepted by people easily." The one person Katrina is looking forward to working with is Hrithik Roshan. Many of her rivals have tried their hand with parallel cinema. Ash did films like Raincoat, Provoked and Chokher Bali while Kareena experimented with Omkara and Chameli. Does Katrina also want to go for a deglamourised role? "If the script is good I will. But I do think the audiences prefer me in glam roles and I doubt they will accept me in a role without makeup. I won't do such a project just for the heck of it," she replies. Soon, the lady will be seen with beau Salman Khan in Yuvraj. She's returning with her hit hero Akshay Kumar yet again in Vipul Shah's Singh Is Kinng, taking to three the total number of films she has done with him. "It's a typical 'masala' film. I am also doing a Yash Raj Films project with John Abraham and Neil Mukesh and a Raj Kumar Santoshi film with Ranbir Kapoor, both of which will go on the floors by the end of the year," Katrina elaborates. That's as far as her work goes. Though she has not admitted to being Salman's off-screen love, Katrina has no qualms admitting she gets along famously with her beau's family. "Salman's mother is a lovely lady. His sisters are also very nice. It's a wonderful family and they care for me a lot. I bond with them very well," she says. Bonding with their to-be 'bahu'? Maybe later, but for now, Kat's happy being the Bollywood cream.
