Vivek Oberoi had created stirs with his role as Chadu in ‘Company’. After a long gap of seven years, RGV has again taken up the task of proving the actor’s worth by casting him in the lead role of rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi in his ambitious venture ‘Rakta Charitra’ and says the film will re-launch both of them in Bollywood.“After thinking hard on every actor both known and unknown, I finally zeroed in on Vivek Oberoi as the most ideal choice to play Paritala Ravi,” Varma, who has almost finished the shoot of Agyaat and is busy wrapping up Rann, said.

Ramu expresses his trust in Vivek stating, “For me, Vivek is the perfect choice for the role. Also, I know for sure that no way can Vivek get a better role than that of Paritala Ravi and no way can I get a better story than ‘Rakta Charitra’ to be told. This is why the film would be re-launching both of us.” he added.

“He has remarkable intensity in his eyes which I noticed during the making of ‘Company’. He has a voice which commands attention, there is an arrogance in his demeanour and an enormous power in his stance. Moreover, there is also a certain vulnerability, which makes one instantly warm up to him, which is what is needed to fit into Paritala Ravi’s profile,” the director explained.

The story of Rakta Charitra will span 12-15 years during which Vivek would be seen in different looks- From being a rebel in the jungles to a political strongman.

vidya balan is the brand ambassador of NGO

vidya balan is the brand ambassador of NGO Nanhi Kali, which propagates education for the girl child. She will soon be funding the education of some children from the NGO. Says a source close to Vidya, "Vidya had been associated with an NGO ever since she started working but a few months ago she decided to withdraw her support against that and join Nanhi Kali. She had sponsored a girl child from the earlier NGO.

Now she's planning to support the education of other girl children in Nanhi Kali. The education of the girl child is something she feels deeply for. Today, Vidya is attending an event where there's been a tie-up with an animation channel and Nanhi Kali and the proceeds of the event will go to the NGO."

Vidya Balan says, "I am completely for the education of the underprivileged girl child. I strongly believe in education. It's a basic necessity and only when you are educated that you can make an informed choice about everything. I became associated with Nanhi Kali through a company that supports the NGO. I Wanted to be sure that the work done is genuine and Nanhi Kali is one such organisation. I have been to their office and joined it recently. They financially support girl children all over India."

Apparently, she's sponsoring the education of some girl children? "Though I am not comfortable talking about it but yes I do plan to finance the education of a few girls. It's amazing how many girl children can get educated for a measly sum of money. It's a small thing to do especially when I have been given so much."

Reacting to rumours about her affair with Vivek Oberoi, vidya balan says, "I have met Vivek precisely one and a half times in my life. The story linking me with him is ridiculous and unbelievable. I would like to know who is the source whose has been quoted in the story. With such a fertile imagination she has a glorious imagination as a storyteller or screenwriter. I think I have become the easiest target for link-ups now."

Vashu Bhagnani is back in the film arena

After a 4-year gap, Vashu Bhagnani is back in the film arena with son Jackky's debut film Kal Kissne Dekha. Not many are aware that Vashu had signed Vivek Sharma much before Vivek directed Bhoothnath. "I wanted to entrust the responsibility of Jackky's debt film to someone who was talented and I could see the spark in Vivek when I interacted with him several years ago," Vashu tells me.

Vashu had also approached Gautam Menon [Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein] and even Ken Ghosh, but things didn't work out. "Vivek called one evening, he had hit upon a story-idea for Jackky's launch. That's how Kal Kissne Dekha took off," he recalls.

Having worked with seasoned actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda and several others, how was it working with two newcomers [Jackky, Vaishali] this time? "Honestly, I was skeptical as far as the economics was concerned. But, as a father, I was supremely optimistic. Jackky showed tremendous discipline in his work. Also, he doesn't look like a first-timer at all," Vashu says proudly.

Rumours are rife about Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan featuring in cameos in the film, but Vashu denies it. "It's not true. Vivek did suggest that we include them in the film. But we haven't shot with them yet. If we do manage to shoot with them later, we will proudly announce it to the world. But, right now, they aren't part of Kal Kissne Dekha," Vashu clarifies.

Though the film's release has been postponed till a settlement is reached between the warring factions [producers/distributors versus multiplexes], the promotion of the film has begun on TV. "I have given in writing that I would stand by my brethren. I wouldn't release the film till the strike is called off. But I need to promote the songs since the music launch had already taken place before the industry went on strike. Yet, on their request, I have cut down on nearly 95% of the promotions."

Aishwarya Rai was born in the South indian state of Karnataka in Manglore on 1st Nov 1973. She was younger of the two siblings, her brother being 3 years elder. When she was about 4 years old, her family moved to Bombay permanently. Her father worked as a merchant navy officer. Aishwarya did her schooling at Arya Vidya Mandir, Santacruz. Academically, she did very well and earned her position as the head girl of her school. Ash chose the science stream while at DG Ruparel College, her favorite subject being Zoology. Aishwarya wanted to do medicine, but circumstances didn't let her. Instead she chose Architecture and passed the interview at Raheja College with flying colors. By this time, Aishwarya had started getting modelling assignments. She then decided to take a break from architecture and concentrate on modelling. This green-blue eyed beauty stole ads for many prestigious firms, the ones which brought her into the limelight were the garden sari and the pepsi ad. Crowned Miss femina '94 runner up, she was a hot favorite to win the miss world title, which she did ! Her beauty and charm made her India's darling. Abhishek Bachchan was born on 5th Febuary 1976 to Bollywood Legend and Veteran Actor Amitabh Bachchan and Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan. Abhishek Bachchan has done his high school in Switzerland. While doing business studies in the United States he had decided to become an actor. He started his acting career from film Refugee opposite Kareena Kapoor. It was not a hit but his performance was to the expectations and noticed by critics also. In LoC he plays the role of Captain Vikram Batra which is a worthwhile experience for him. Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost film failed to create any ripples but still Abhishek stands by it. Critics said the film needed improvement in the scripting department. But his role in the film is appreciated. He had done many films but still he is struggling hard for a blockbuster which can prove him. Despite all this he had been through with the Kapoors. He was engaged to Karishma Kapoor in 2002 but after few months they had broke up. Abhishek forthcoming film is Yashraj film venture directing by Sanjay Gandhavi. Uday Chopra and John Abraham are the other star in it. Ram Gopal verma's Naach. His home production film with Apoorva Lakhia which is untitled.
